Hi and welcome to Jolie and Grace! A lifestyle blog for the modern-day Proverbs 31 you! I am Viviane, first and foremost, child of His, then wife and then mom – although most days I feel like the “mom” part is usually first priority to everything else. I am a mom to two beautiful girls, whose middle names are Jolie and Grace, hence the name behind this blog.
I started this journey on Instagram sharing my faith, fashion, and fitness. And quickly realized that I wanted to share so much more with you and needed a blogging space to roam free. So here I am, and here you are! I believe in the power of a smile, positive attitude and kindness – those things go a long way, and can make anything look good on anyone. My hope is that you find my content relatable, inspirational and most importantly authentic.
If this is your first time stopping by, welcome and hope you stay awhile.
Faith
This is the core and center of who I am. My faith allows me to believe in the positive, in the impossible, in the little daily miracles, in sacrifice and in love. The love of my Father, who takes me in each day with all my sins and broken pieces. Faith is believing that I have Christ in my corner, that my King has a seat for me at His table. But, please do not think for one second that I have it all figured out. I do not have nor claim to know the 12 Steps to Being a Better Christian. And if I ever sound like I do, please call me out on it! The reason why I chose faith to be a part of this blog is because I want to share with you my spiritual struggles, the ups and downs and definitely celebrate the small forward steps. I believe in the power of fellowship and being open and vulnerable, aspiring to be better and inspiring others at the same time. And we are here to make genuine connections, aspire and inspire each other!
Here is what you can expect to see on my blog and social channels.
Fashion
Plain and simple, I love experimenting with style. I do like clothes and makeup. I take pride in my appearance. This is something I struggled with to be upfront about, because I felt that if I like these things, then I get stigmatized of not being a true Christian. But have you read Proverbs 31? This is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. The chapter speaks of the many great qualities of a wife of noble character. She is superwoman, getting up early, trading and working with her hands, supporting her husband, providing for her family. And then there is that little part about “she is clothed in fine linen and purple”. This is not to say that clothes define her. But taking pride in her appearance is part of her effort to put her best foot forward, making a mark in her world. Fashion does not define who I am. I am made of so much more than that. Fashion is merely a projection of me. In aspiring to be a Proverbs 31 woman, I am not ashamed to admit that I would like to look good doing it.
Fitness
Fitness is something I became passionate about in recent years. And the reason why I chose it to be part of this blog is because having been serious about fitness and healthy eating for several years now, I can attest to the fact that the journey has been so much more than physical appearance, but more about self love! I am sure you have heard it many times before, but the core benefit of living a healthy lifestyle is a healthy mind and a positive outlook. I am still maneuvering my way around it though. Again, like anything else, there are ups and downs, good days and bad days, days when I feel like throwing in the towel and days when I feel uplifted and powered up to press through to the next challenge. And I want to share all of that with you.
Decor
I have a knack for DIY and home decor. I recently started sharing some home spaces and planning to share more! My home style is a mix between traditional, rustic, French country and modern farmhouse. It is definitely a lot of styles in one so my challenge is pulling it all together cohesively. Come along for inspiration and ideas.
If you have made it this far, thanks for taking the time to get to know me.
