30A Travel Recap

The beauty and charm of 30A still lingers with me and I can’t wait to go back! We visited Florida back in August and while we usually frequent the Clearwater/Tampa area – find travel guides here) – this time around I wanted to venture out and visit 30A. 30A is about 6 hours away from Clearwater. We decided to do 3 days in 30A and let me tell you it was not enough!

Many are not familiar with 30A which stands for County Road 30A – a strip of beaches between Destin and Panama City that include: Inlet, Rosemary, Seacrest, Alys, Watersound, Seagrove, Seaside, WaterColor, Grayton, Blue Mountain, Santa Rosa, Gulf Place, Dune Allen, Sandestin, Miramar, and Seascape. Each beach town is different from the other which is what makes this area so unique, offering plenty to do and see. We did not visit each beach town, but were able to visit a good amount since they are all fairly close to each other by car.

Where We Stayed
We stayed at Hotel Effie in Sandestin. This hotel is nestled in the gated community of the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. It is a brand new property that opened earlier in 2021 and it is impeccable! The property is nothing short of absolute gorgeousness. I gave a full tour of it under my Sandestin highlight on Instagram. The rooftop pool alone with its stunning views was amazing – both day and night! Plus, we were steps away from the Village of Baytowne Wharf which is a charming and quaint village with boutiques, eateries, galleries and nightlife! Check their schedule because they hold outdoor festivals and special events year round.

Where We Visited
We visited Miramar, Watercolor, Seaside, Rosemary, Alys, Inlet and Grayton Beach. You will notice how different each little beach town is, which is why 30A is incredibly unique and a lot to take in! Our favorite spots were Rosemary Beach for its European vibe and Alys Beach for its Greek/Mediterranean vibe. We also took a boat out to Crab Island, a huge sandbar in Destin, which is not necessarily considered 30A but it was an amazing experience and a fun thing to do with the family!
