I am sharing my green juice recipe and how I store a batch for a few days. I love the feeling of reaching over and finding green juice readily available in my fridge first thing in the morning or for a healthy snack.
You can make this recipe using a juicer or a blender. It depends on the texture you prefer. With a juicer, you are only extracting the juice into true liquid form with no pulp. If you use a blender, you are blending all the ingredients together so the texture will be thicker because of the pulp. My recipe is good for either – it just depends on your preference for consistency.
Ingredients
1 apple
1 cucumber
2 celery sticks
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup of spinach
1 inch piece of raw ginger
Directions
Throw all the ingredients in a blender.
Add water to the cup line and then blend. If you are using a juicer, skip this step.
Transfer to glass bottles for storage.
You can modify the recipe above as needed depending on your taste. I try to keep the vegetable to fruit ratio high though. And I usually make a batch for two days. Typically home made juice does not have a long shelf life.
If you end up trying this recipe out, let me know what you think!
